| Silverfish and firebrats are small to medium-sized wingless insects with simple metamorphosis. They usually have compound eyes and stylelike appendages attached to the end of the abdomen. They can be distinguised from the similar-looking members of the Order Microcoryphia because, unlike bristletails, their bodies are not cylindrical and the thorax area is not arched. Instead, silverfish and firebrats appear somewhat flattened. |
